Singapore adds resources
According to a story by Aaron W-Tan, Channel NewsAsia, education officials are adding personnel resources to mainstream schools in Singapore (SN) so that they will be more capable of addressing the needs of students with disabilities, including students with dyslexia. Students apparently must apply for a position in one of the schools that provide these special education services.
Mr. W-Tan reported that the Ministry of Education plans to have 236 SNOs in schools by 2010. It looks like there might be a need for coordinated staff development! I wonder who’s working on this.
