I’d missed Teacher Julie in my prior forays about the Web. Apparently, a teacher who blogs as “Julie” and lives in the Philappines has been posting items about her life as well as special education. Although I’ve not reviewed everything there, I glanced at a few of the entries about Learning Disabilities and found basic-but-not-misleading info. I’ll check back on Teacher Julie periodically.

I’m not sure if she lives in the Phillipines, or is a Filipina working in the US.
Hi John! Thank you for citing my blog. I am a special education teacher here in the Philippines. Yes, I am blogging about special ed as well as my life here. Some of my entries are basic because these are meant to be understood easily, that’s why I include links and cite where I got the topic from, so the readers can go to sites where they can learn more. I write about what I know, about my teaching experiences and my thoughts.
I have not written about laws and regulations re special ed in the Philippines because basically I am not familiar with the Department of Education laws and regulations about special ed. There are policies but these are not as specific as NLCB, ADA, Section 504 or IDEA 2004. These laws I cannot really blog about because these are not applicable where I teach. But in time, I will, because I want to raise some issues about policies, practices and special education-related rights.
My blog has been “officially established” when I signed up with a web hosting company late October 2006 and the entries before that were taken from my accounts with other free sites.
Thank you for the interest.
